Inspired by Hawaiian pirogues
2023 is shaping up to be a busy year for Aquila Power Catamarans - in addition to the Aquila 42 Yacht, presented at the Miami International Boat Show (check out our full test in the next issue MW189), there’s going to be a 47-foot powercat dedicated to fishing set for its official launch this coming fall.

The manufacturer is currently conducting the very first tests of this new model and has just sent us the very first images. The Aquila 47 completes the Molokai range, introduced by the Aquila 28 back in December 2021, which is why this model is called “The Big Kahuna”, implying the big boss in Hawaiian. The hulls are very narrow at the waterline and were inspired by the design of Hawaiian pirogues.
