The BVI are strongly influenced by their neighbor, and we found a very “American” set up. Everything was well organized, and you can reserve your mooring ball online the same day.
Having left the cold of a French December, we were now enjoying the sun on islands which were not very busy for this time of year. The beaches were magnificent, with white sand and crystalline waters. We were able to swim in the colorful creeks and rocks of Virgin Gorda: that’s really not to be missed!
We rented a scooter to go around the island of Anegada: a great experience with American bars on the north side along the beaches. Lobster fishermen provide deliveries for dinner, serving three shellfish restaurants on the west side.
For New Year’s Eve, we had a great evening in Leverick Bay: a meal and a show on the beach, a crazy atmosphere and a real change of scenery for us.
As experienced divers, we couldn’t leave without doing some dives to wrap up our trip. Be careful, the dive sites have limited capacities, so you must think about making your reservations as soon as you arrive. As far as we are concerned, our favorite dive site was Cooper Island.
