Euphorie 5 - Simply waiting to leave
Test in MW#162

The objective for builder Privilège and architect Marc Lombard was to design a power version of the very successful Série 5. The bet paid off, as the elegant Euphorie 5 has irreproachable seakeeping qualities and a luxury level of comfort. With the exception of a few details, particularly in the cockpit, it naturally follows the same layout plan - the gigantic owner’s cabin still occupies the full width of the central rostrum. As usual in the Privilège world, customization is possible and high-end quality is present in every detail. A real invitation to head off further afield!Constructeur : Privilège Marine

Iliad 50 - Mission: blue water cruising
Test in MW#169

The Iliad range is built in China and distributed in Australia. This 50-foot boat, designed for ocean crossing, is complemented by three other models that are even bigger. The Iliad’s program is much more adventurous than that of most of its competitors: the possibility of covering 2,500 miles without refueling and being able to take the ground, on a beach or slipway proves it from the outset... However, comfort has not been neglected, quite the contrary: the Iliad 50 offers three levels of living space and a particularly neat finish.

Leopard 53 PC - A motoryacht design
2020 Multihull of the Year Winner

This boat features real motoryacht lines, with a solid foredeck, pronounced topsides and an impressively sized flybridge. A very clear effort has been made in terms of design: the coachroof is visually lighter than on previous models. Inside, moving around is easy: a wide central passage connects the aft cockpit to the foredeck saloon - accessible thanks to the famous front door, dear to Leopard. Outside, there’s no shortage of space for relaxation, and access to the sea and the dinghy has been given priority. Our test demonstrated the good handling of the 53 PC and her speed possibilities – up to 22 knots.

Horizon PC52 -Semi-custom offshore boating

If you think you can see experienced craftsmanship everywhere aboard the PC52, that’s because Horizon have been producing yachts in Taiwan since 1987. This model is the first of the range as it also includes the 60. the 65 and the 74. However, like her big sisters, the 52 has been luxuriously treated like a superyacht. Quality materials, robustness and rigidity are the key words for the construction. Each model is built in a small production run to reduce costs while preserving a great deal of freedom in terms of layout and equipment.

Aquila 54 Yacht- A forward cabin across the entire width
2021 Multihull of the Year Winner

Building on the experience of the Aquila 44 and 48 (the latter slipped from the catalog just over a year ago), the manufacturer is launching a new, larger model, the Aquila 54 Yacht. The first 3D renders reveal a perfectly protected flybridge and, notably, a new owner’s cabin located at the forward end of the nacelle. This benefits from an impressive amount of glazed surface area. The saloon includes two sofas, one of which serves as a bench seat around the table. The U-shaped galley adjoins the cockpit and is completed by a central bar. The Aquila 54 is available in 3 to 5 cabins. This new model was launched less than a year ago, and is already seeing great success with 50 units already having been ordered…

Silent 55 - Pioneering E-power
Test in M#168

With dozens of catamarans now ordered, Silent Yachts is one of the pioneers in electric propulsion. There’s no denying that the 55, presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2018, is most convincing. The 100% electric E-Power version with two 135 kW motors can reach 10 knots - as we were able to measure during our test - is particularly attractive. The Cruiser model, less powerful, offers greater range. As for the hybrid diesel-electric version, this will reassure even the most skeptical. Finally, Silent offers a Sails version, which will delight those most committed to preserving the environment. Inside, five layout options are available, with a special mention for the Master cabin, positioned centrally, forward.

Two Oceans 555 Power Catamaran - Refined design and forward door

An even more successful version of the previous project (the 55 Power Catamaran), this 555 built in South Africa has a refined design and features proven technologies. The hulls are optimized for excellent passage through the sea and an optimum performance under power. Designed for powercat use only, the Two Oceans 555 is distinguished by a moderate deck width though the nacelle remains very voluminous. There is a forward door and numerous layouts (3 or 4-cabin versions) available.

LEEN 56 - Cruising on three hulls
Test in Special Issue #16
2022 Multihull of the Year Nominee

NEEL Trimarans, born in 2009, can claim to be the only manufacturer to offer large production trimarans - 30 units are produced every year. Thanks to this unique positioning and their expertise, the yard announced launched their very first power trimaran back in April. This new brand of powered trimarans called LEEN (a clever reflection of Neel, being named after the owner and founder of the yard, Eric Bruneel). The first model announced is therefore the LEEN 56, characterized by the two floats significantly shorter at the bows compared to the central hull, and by a platform of large surface-area, topped by an imposing flybridge. The advantage of these new ocean-going multihulls is their very low drag: consumption will be limited to 2 liters (just over ½ US gal) per mile at cruising speed (9 knots). The diesel engine in the central hull can be supported by two electric pods - one in each hull - to facilitate maneuvering in port and for leaving an anchorage with the greatest discretion.

Silent 60 - All levels of electric power
Test in Special Issue #17
2022 Multihull of the Year Nominee

This new model is taking over the torch from the 64, the first electric catamaran to have crossed the Atlantic. The recently launched hull #1 was able to validate its specifications, i.e. sailing without burning any fuel, thereby not emitting any pollutants, at up to 4/5 knots. The Silent 60, like all the other models from the brand, is of course powered by twin electric motors. The manufacturer offers three formulas - 2 x 30 kW, 2 x 250 kW, and 2 x 220 HP coupled with two small 14 kW electric motors. Extended forward at the front of the coachroof by a cap, and aft by a large bimini, the superstructures are designed to support a maximum surface area of solar panels (450 sq ft/42 m², compared with 325/30 for the Silent 55). A version known as the 62-3 Deck sees the flybridge transformed into a real upper deck.

Licia C18 Aquanaut - Pleasure and speed

In 2020, Turkish shipyard Licia Yachts unveiled an audacious project designed by Officina Armare: a 60-foot power catamaran whose sporty design is clearly influenced directly by the automotive industry. The powerful 2 x 800 HP motors combined with deep V hulls promise more than flattering performance – a cruising speed of 30 knots, and 45 knots top speed. Comfort will be ensured by large relaxation areas, bars and dining rooms. The Licia C18 Aquanaut has also been designed to accommodate all kinds of nautical toys, such as the U-Boat Worx Nemo submarine, shown here. When at anchor, the bulwarks can be folded down to enjoy the deck area even more.

Rapido 60 Powertri - For day charter use

This multihull designed for professional day charter use is simply the Rapido 60... without a rig! On closer inspection, the manufacturer offers a much more powerful 240 HP engine capable of propelling the three hulls at 20 knots. The deck plan can carry on into the side trampolines enabling the boat to accommodate up to 43 passengers in good conditions. The Rapido 60 Power Trimaran offers decent headroom of 6’10” (2.10 m) and two cabins - the builder can customize your model to your specifications.
