The largest sailing catamaran in the world is going to be dedicated to culture
While power multiyachts can now be found exceeding 160 feet (50 meters) in length, the largest twin-hulled sailboat is currently only 145 feet (44.2 m). So, Art Explora, with an announced length of 152’6” (46.5 m), is soon to become the largest sailing catamaran in the world. For Axel de Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier, the designers of this giant multihull, the project is obviously an enormous and exciting challenge... especially since the purpose is first and foremost a philanthropic one.

In fact, Art Explora is a foundation that aims to reduce the cultural divide in the world. This giant multihull will act as a floating museum capable of welcoming 2,000 visitors per day at its stopovers. In terms of design, the challenge consisted of reconciling good seakeeping qualities with a modularity of interior spaces and a deck layout compatible with a museum setting. Art Explora is due to be launched in 2023.
