The technology uses six 1080p cameras - one forward, one aft and two down each side. When the system is activated, it displays a full panoramic image in real-time with 360-degree video views around the multihull directly onto compatible Garmin plotters or multi-function displays (MFDs). This device is designed to maximize visibility and minimize any blind spots. The skipper can view one or two cameras simultaneously with the aerial view image, zoom in and even pan round a specific area from each individual camera. The Surround View camera system also offers a number of augmented reality options for enhanced situational awareness and collision avoidance such as a ‘virtual fender’ and a distance indicator.
