36 knots top speed!
McConaghy Boats are announcing the start of production of their MC63p. This first model was ordered by New Zealand skipper Grant Dalton - director of Team New Zealand and winner, among others, of The Race in 2001 aboard the catamaran Club Med.

The MC63p picks up on some of the design elements from the MC60, such as the angled deck edge, and the aft-set nacelle/bimini assembly. But the hulls, in the forward section, still gain in freeboard and feature a second chine. The trampoline disappears, replaced by a rigid deck. The MC63p adopts high-tech construction: carbon/foam/epoxy on all levels to obtain a rigid and lightweight platform. Two 875 horsepower engines provide a cruising speed of 20 knots, and 36 knots top speed thanks to the addition of semi-foils. The interior has been particularly well thought-out and comes in three versions, with three or four cabins. Large windows - panels and doors - are retractable in order to completely decompartmentalize the nacelle in fine weather. Two flybridge configurations are also available.
