BREAKING NEWS - F43 POWER OPEN - A day-boat of dreams...

PROJECT - Not much is yet known about this project by the Italian manufacturer Delta Catamarans - their website is still showing an enigmatic «Coming Soon»... But the first images have started to circulate: the F43 Power displays a flush deck layout and a modest bimini to protect the central area - and thus the helm station. The forward area, which is significantly raised up, looks likely to be fitted out. A radical, uncluttered look that perfectly matches the engine choice of outboard motors.

BREAKING NEWS - SOEL SENSES 48 OPEN - For happy weekends on the water...
Since 2011, Soel Yachts have been designing and building electric catamarans for professional use. They’ve made a change of course with their new Soel Senses 48, intended for a clientele of private owners. This boat’s highperformance electric propulsion offers flattering cruising and maximum speeds - 10 and 18 knots respectively - while ensuring a (maximum) range of 56 miles. The nacelle incorporates the helm station, and it opens completely to the cockpit. Two lateral doors facilitate circulation to the forward sunbathing area, and the electric passerelle integrated into the deck. Each hull is equipped with a double cabin and a bathroom.

GEMINI FREESTYLE 399 POWER - Perfect for day sailing! !

True to the philosophy of all their models, Gemini have kept the beam of their powercat low - less dockspace required and the possibility of using most inland waterways. The 399 Power is a clever evolution of the Freestyle 37: with its center console, this new Freestyle frees up an astonishing deck space. The hulls have evolved to facilitate planing, and the keels are reduced to limit draft. Two modest Suzuki DF90A outboards allow a cruising speed of 15 knots and 22.5 knots at full throttle.

NEW ! BALI CATSPACE MY - Integral deck

This new model is pretty close in size to her bigger sister, the 4.3 MY. But look a little deeper and you’ll see this powercat has less volume – 758 sq ft (70.4 m²) of usable space as opposed to 894 sq ft (83.1 m²) for the 4.3 – and is noticeably cheaper. The platform is based on the sailing version with an imposing - but nevertheless harmonious - flybridge, accessible from both sides. The philosophy of this Catspace MY is to further optimize the Bali concept - open volumes, ease of use, comfort - by exploiting 100% of the available deck space. The choice of engines ranges from 2 x 150 to 2 x 250 HP. With whichever option, priority is given to range with up to 370 US gal (1,400 liters) of fuel and 185 US gal (700 liters) of water. The Catspace MY will likely be launched by the end of the year.

MY 40 - Cruising on the flybridge...

Fountaine Pajot presented the MY 40 two years ago now, filling the gap between the 37 and the 44. The design is more contemporary, dynamic, with its sculpted topsides and stepped bows. The flybridge is particularly large, with a lounge, a sunbathing area, the essential cockpit and a proper outdoor galley. A forward cockpit further enhances the exterior spaces. From the inside, the 360-degree view allows you to cruise, sheltered in complete serenity, within earshot of the rest of the crew. The beautiful galley provides the link with the large cockpit, which in turn opens onto the large optional aft platform. The owner’s suite on the port side is well-worth a look, with two guest cabins on the starboard side. The choice of a moderate cruising speed means a good range for all Volvo IPS engines.

LEOPARD 43PC - All the comfort og a 50 footer!

To replace the 39, Leopard gave an extra 4 feet to architects Simonis & Voogd. And the benefits have included the interior volume, subtly increased by the presence of a chine, the exterior spaces, but also the performance since the top speed now climbs to 24 knots. Note that the chosen powertrain is generous with twin 320 HP’s. This allows a wonderful range of 1,000 nautical miles (at 5 knots with a single engine running), which reduces to 180 nm at full speed. A flybridge, direct forward access from the galley, 3 and 4-cabin versions plus crew: so many more things that make this “little” Leopard a powercat that has nothing to envy on bigger boats.

BALI 4.3 MY - 100% pleasure!

This first powercat from the Bali brand has seen great commercial success, with 20 units ordered in 18 months. We appreciated the original design with a marked drop-off at the back of the hulls, the super comfortable flybridge and of course all the particular features of a Bali: pivoting/ tilting rear door, retractable windows, large cabins and huge refrigerator. And our test model, after her 2,000-nm trip around Spain, was able to demonstrate her nautical qualities and reliability.

40 OPEN SUNREEF POWER - The star among powercats

From Cannes to Abu Dhabi, Monaco to Miami, this was last year’s star boat. It must be said that with its metallic hulls, underwater lights, white leather bucket-seats, carbon black T-top, full teak deck, forward cockpit, up to the 5-star bathroom, the 40 Open has done nothing to go unnoticed. The must-have is the after end of its tilting topsides that create a vast sunbathing area in the center of a huge terrace overlooking the water. Once at sea, go-kart maneuverability and sports performance will win you over – up to 60 knots top speed with the most powerful engine option.

FLASH CAT 43 - Already aclassic!

Launched in 2015, this powercat built in Valencia, Spain, is derived from the previous model: it has kept the same rather successful lines with its evolutive deck form while seeing many additional features - aft platform, large 195 sq ft (18 m²) flybridge, and redesigned owner’s bathroom. Powered by two 170 to 350 HP diesels, the Flash Cat cruises at speeds between 16 and 20 knots, with a top speed of 27 knots with the most powerful variation. The layout can be customized according to your wishes

ECOPOWER X44 - The power is modest, the price even more so

An evolution of the Andaman 42 sailing version, the Ecopower X44 has hulls more adapted for engine use. Gilles Reigner, who has been at the helm of the Thai shipyard for the past two years, has opted for a sensible powertrain of 2 x 110 HP, or 2 x 40 kW electric (with 325 sq ft / 30 m² of solar panels and diesel generator) in order to comfortably do 15 knots and to keep maintenance costs under control. The roof over the flybridge is retractable in order to pass beneath bridges. The strong point of this model is its particularly attractive starting price compared to its competitors of the same length.

QUAD 44 - A raised nacelle

PROJECT - This catamaran propelled by electric motors opts for a nacelle raised above the floats, which are reminiscent of skids: the aim is to protect the living area as much as possible from spray, whatever the sea conditions. While the nacelle remains relatively conventional, the cabins are much less so, since they incorporate rounded structures at the bow and stern - the hulls are therefore not actually fitted out

Ultimately, the three cabins offered as standard (4 cabins have been available since 2018), as well as the interior equipment, are perfectly consistent with its program - use in charter or for private cruising.

MARES 45 FT YACHT FISH - Asymetric hulls

This model is the smallest in the Mares range, a company specializing in luxury models - up to 160 feet. As always at this Florida-based manufacturer, the hulls are asymmetrical in order to offer better performance (up to 35 knots, 27 for cruising), more stability and lower fuel consumption. The 45 Ft Yacht Fish, as its name suggests, has been optimized for the most demanding of fishermen - from the Mares Motor Yacht version. This is evidenced by its huge aft cockpit, but also by the possibility for the pilot to see what is happening there from the flybridge. Other models available: the Mares 47 and 65.

NEW ! HAMMERCAT 45 - A la carte deck layout

Following the 35 that we discovered at Miami back in February – which will be on test in a forthcoming issue - her big sister, the HammerCat 45, is already out of the box... she keeps the same overall lines with narrow hulls at the waterline, a gullwing-shaped nacelle sitting high above the water, and the famous truncated bow. The latter is tilting and integrates a staircase for a direct access to the sea... or onto the sand. The builders are offering several deck plans so that their HammerCat 45 can be used as a fast offshore cruiser, for sports fishing, as a dive boat, etc. As far as the engines are concerned, there’s no messing about: four outboard motors of 527 HP each means that 55 knots is within easy reach... the hull is capable of motoring at 30/35 knots in excellent conditions of comfort with much more reasonable fuel consumption figures than those of a monohull.

NAUTITECH 47 POWER - Une version moteur réussie
First seen early 2018 at Düsseldorf, the very first Nautitech Power is a direct descendent of the Nautitech 46 Sail. Like her, she is available in in Sedan or Flybridge versions and has seen a complete restyling this past year. During our test, this model proved to have excellent seakeeping qualities when under way. The 47 has a nice variety of programs: coastal cruising at 22 knots or long-distance cruising with a 1,000-mile range at 9 knots, the choice is yours. On board, the saloon/cockpit typical of the brand, as well as an understated, yet chic and efficient design. You could lose count of the outside spaces, between the flybridge, sunbathing area, forward cockpit, and even the aft hydraulic platform, as useful for carrying the dinghy as it is for use as a private bathing platform.
