<p>The oldest transatlantic race dates from 1866. The New York Yacht Club organized what was then its first transatlantic race in the direction of England. It was during one of these races (in 1905), that Charlie Barr established a record (12 days and 4 hours) from New York to the Lizard. A record which was only beaten by Eric Tabarly, after… 92 years!</p>
<p>Since 2011, the Transatlantic Race has been organized every 4 years, and in 2019, the start will be given on 25th June at Newport, and is of course open to multihulls (the last winner was the MOD 70 Phaedo 3).</p>
