<p>On May 5th, one of the most mythical races ever will be re-born from its ashes, and 40 years after the first edition, (won by Eugène Riguidel and Gilles Gahinet aboard VSD, with a 5-minute lead over Eric Tabarly and Marc Pajot’s trimaran, Paul Ricard), the Ultim class trimarans, the Multi 50s and the Imocas are again going to do battle. The program is actually tempting, as the ‘new formula’ race is fully-crewed, leaves from Lorient, rounds Bermuda and returns to Lorient. Giving 5,780 non-stop miles and two Atlantic crossings to be carried out to try and win.</p>
<p>The first official entry is the trimaran MACIF, belonging to François Gabart, who considers this race to be the ideal preparation for the Ultim’s round the world race, which will start at the end of 2019…</p>
