MY 40
Fountaine Pajot's Motor Yachts branch, which is riding on the success of the 37 and 44, is now offering the MY40. The design is of course more contemporary and dynamic, with recessed topsides and stepped bows. The flybridge looks particularly roomy with a lounge space, sunbathing area, the essential helm station, and a small galley. A forward cockpit adds to the exterior space. From the inside, the 360° view means that the helm can be manned from a sheltered spot, within earshot of the rest of the crew. The lovely galley provides the transition to the large cockpit, which itself opens up onto a large optional aft platform. The owner's port side suite is well worth a visit, and there are two guest cabins to starboard. Cruising at a moderate speed, whichever Volvo IPS engine you choose, you will get a good range. Check it out at Düsseldorf!

EUPHORIE 5
Good on the water, comfortable, elegant. Our in-house tester was won over by the newly launched Euphorie 5. (see Multihulls World n°162). The challenge of offering a powered version of the Série 5 seems to have paid off. Apart from a few details, notably in the cockpit, they have used the same layout, especially with the huge owner's cabin taking up the whole width of the central rostrum. As ever with top end products, it is possible to customize, still maintaining the top quality in all the detail, without ever tipping over into ostentatious luxury. Our test concluded that this is a boat with a future.

XQUISITE X5 POWER
With its futuristic rear arc, and its striking anthracite gray color, there's no doubt that the Xquisite 5 will be immediately recognizable, just like its sailing version older brother. The topsides have been carefully designed, with long windows offering a good view from within the hulls, and there are inverted, modern-looking bows. The deck is prolonged as far as the forward beam, with a large integrated sun-bathing area. As the windage is less critical than on a sailboat, there is a hard top flybridge on the coachroof. We can assume that the quality of the fittings will be in the same vein as the X5 Sail: luxurious, spacious and comfortable. The launch is planned for 2020.

SILENT 55
Silent Yachts have been pioneers in electrical propulsion, and we can say that the 55 which was presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2018 is one of the more persuasive examples. Although the 100% electric E-Power version, powered by two 135kW motors and reaching 14 knots, is very appealing, the less powerful "Cruiser" model will give you more range. The hybrid diesel will perhaps attract the most skeptical clients, and the "Sailor" version will please the most ardent ecologist. Inside, five different layouts are already available, with a special mention for the Master Cabin, situated in a forward central position.

AQUILA 30
After the great success of its larger models, and the coveted Multihull Of The Year award for the Aquila 36, the shipyard has extended its range with this sporty looking 30 footer which is available in outboard and inboard versions. There are three different power versions, but all of them can hit over 30 knots, and maybe even forty. The huge cockpit and the brand-new aft platform look good and offer extra safety. The interior hasn't been forgotten either, with some extra headroom extending the usable area, and including a proper cabin and separate heads. It is already being tested in the water and will be unveiled at the upcoming Miami show. A foiling version is on the drawing board.

40 OPEN SUNREEF POWER
Cannes, Abu Dhabi, Monaco. This boat has been the star of the end of summer shows. We have to admit, that with its metallic hulls, underwater lights, white leather bucket-seats, black carbon T-top, teak everywhere on the deck, the forward cockpit and the five star bathroom, it is looking to make a statement. This is the latest in Sunreef's luxury range. But the stand-outs in all of this are the hinged topsides, creating an enormous terrace above the water. Add to this the maneuverability of a go-kart, and sporty performance and you'll be seduced.

HAVANA 44 POWERCAT
After the 40 and the 42, the South African shipyard is bringing us more of the same, with a 44 foot power version, currently under construction in Cape Town. We know very little about it for the moment, but it should pick up where the other two left off. We would bet that there will be a high nacelle which will allow for easier passage in rough seas, and a very large forward owner's cabin, directly accessible from the saloon. The flybridge should be set high, offering an uninterrupted view of the sea, which offers security, and also for big game fishermen, who will appreciate the stability and performance.

MC CONAGHY 59
The profile of the hulls of the future McConaghy 59 resembles that of sailing catamarans and should offer the kind of performance that we have come to expect from this famous shipyard which is now based in China. The nacelle is significantly extended forward, with a cockpit replacing the trampoline. The fittings are mainly inspired by the MC55 sail version, especially the huge saloon, which is open at the back, avoiding the need for an aft cockpit. However, the major change is forward, with the addition of a central owner's cabin which should afford an exceptional view.

COCOON
Attention! This catamaran is different! The Spanish yard Vamoz Yachts, in conjunction with Lasta Design, is offering the Cocoon, the first vessel in a range of catamarans which should reach 10m and 12m. There are no ocean crossings lined up for this CE category B model, but it does allow for luxury travelling and is full of light, with a remarkable amount of living space given the length.

SERENITY 64
American marketing and an extremely meticulous Turkish build come together in this Serenity 64, which was recently seen at Cannes. The creators chose, (quite reasonably given the current state of technology) to offer a hybrid version, with two electric motors and two diesel: reassuring and eco-friendly. The fittings are standard, but the standard of the installation is of a particularly high quality. But what really caught our eye, was the ingenious rigid bimini, covered in solar panels, which can be lowered to cover the huge flybridge to reduce the air Draft and/or the windage!

BAVARIA POWER 47
First seen at Düsseldorf in early 2018, the Nautitech Power certainly drew the crowds for its first public appearance. It's a versatile boat. From a coastal cruiser, pushing along at 22 knots, to the seagoing cruiser with a thousand-mile range at 9 knots. We rediscover this brand's love of the cockpit/saloon combination, as well as a sober design and fittings, which is chic and efficient. Outside there is lots of space between the flybridge, sun bathing areas, the forward cockpit, and even a rear hydraulic platform which can be used to transport a proper dinghy, or as your own private beach!

AVENTURA 10
In a market where many of the major players are all aiming at the 45 foot range, it's refreshing to see Aventura offering a proper cruising motor catamaran that is "only" 10m. However, it has everything that the big ones have, with a forward cockpit, flybridge, a huge saloon/galley with sea view and 3 or 4 cabin versions. There is a choice of motors between two outboards and two inboards, from 110 to 250hp.

AQUILA 36
The great success of the Aquila 36 in less than two years of commercialization is proof that there is a need for the concept of a motor catamaran day-boat. As against its smaller 30 foot brother which will be released soon, the 36 is more adapted to longer stays on board with its two cabins and two bathrooms as standard. It performs like a sports boat, getting up to 40 knots!

MY 37
Fountaine Pajot's entry level Motor yacht, the 37 is built just like its big brothers. The layouts are particularly eye-catching for a boat of this size, especially the lovely port side owner's cabin, and there is a versatility of performance to interest everyone, with a top speed of 20 knots and a range of 1000 miles at 7 knots.

LEOPARD 43PC
To replace the 39, Leopard has given 4 more feet to architects Simonis and Voogd to play with. It's very obvious throughout, whether it's the interior space, the subtle use of stepping, the outside space, or even in the performance which takes it up to 24 knots. The flybridge, direct access forward from the galley, 3 and 4 cabin versions, plus crew, and you can see that it's the biggest of the small Leopards!

AQUILA 44
A mid-range boat, thought up by the visionary Lex Raas, the Aquila 44 initially surprised us with its outstanding volumes. The interior space has definitely attracted a demanding clientele. The three standard cabins (a 4th possible from this year), as with all the domestic equipment, fit in perfectly with the program, whether it be for private or charter use.

HH48
As well as its sailing catamaran options with the HH range, the Hudson shipyard is now offering motor catamarans under its Hudson Powercat brand. The boat's silhouette differs markedly from those of the sailing range. The good performance (up to 25 knots) and the luxurious fittings haven't changed, and the interior volumes are maximized thanks to Bill Dixon Design. In particular, there is a magnificent owner's cabin with a sea view. 52 and 56 foot versions are in the pipeline.

MY 44
This is the largest of the Motor Yacht range from Fountaine Pajot (not counting the 67 which is part of the Alegria range). The MY44 represents the essence of this shipyards power catamaran experience. Marrying speed with range at cruising speed and top-level comfort, the success has been immediate. With the particularly attractive owner's hull, much more space and unsurpassed stability underway or at anchor, this concept has everything to attract any motor boat lover!

AQUILA 48
The first and the largest of the catamarans that were originally designed for MarineMax, the Aquila 48 has also attracted a private clientele. The interior and exterior volumes are remarkable. If the 3 or 4 cabin offering is industry standard, then the interior helm station, the saloon, the galley, the forward cockpit accessible from the interior or the flybridge which is like an upper deck are really quite impressive!

LAGOON 630
In launching the Lagoon 630 Motor Yacht, the Bénéteau group hit the spot judging by the number of orders and the consequent delivery delays. We have to admit that the onboard space is impressive, and that the quality of the finishing has been cranked up a notch, to a level approaching that of superyachts. Except in this case, the moderate consumption of a catamaran offers transatlantic range!

This yacht can cover all the bases. There's also an infinite amount of customization possible depending upon your own program. Unsurprisingly the numbers are off the scale, with a 3,000 mile range, and a 32m² flybridge with a jacuzzi!

MARES 65 SKY LOUNGE
The flagship of Mares catamarans while we await the possible 90 footer, this 65 foot version straddles the two styles: Motor Yacht with a classical flybridge, and the "Sky Lounge", which offers a cabin instead with a 360° view. As always with Mares, the hulls are asymmetrical, to boost performance (up to 35 knots, 27 cruising), more stability and less fuel consumption.
