NEW - Astus 20.5

Astus Boats is continuing the development of its range of trimarans, which are as much fun to sail as they are practical and easy to use. The latest of these transportable boats is the Astus 20.5, which replaces the 20.2 in the range (120 examples of which have been built). Just like the 16.5, this new Astus was designed by VPLP. It has a well-flared, planing hull for performance and protection from the spray, but the 930-litre floats provide reassuring safety and stability. The floats can of course be retracted, and the Astus 20.5 can be transported on its special trailer. A boat you will be able to see at the next Düsseldorf Boat Show.

NEW - Libertist 853

You dreamt of it? Erik Lerouge has designed it, and Libertist has built it. Discovered at the last La Rochelle Boat Show, the Libertist 853 is the first boat in a full range which will eventually run from 7 to 12 meters, via a 10-meter boat and this 8.53 m trimaran. This lightweight trimaran - its unladen weight is just 1,400 kg - offers accommodation which can't be imagined when looking at its stocky, sporty silhouette. Two double cabins, a real saloon, heads - perfect weekends aboard are yours for the taking, aboard a resolutely fun machine, which is fast, thanks to its composite construction, carbon mast and modern appendages. On test very soon in Multihulls World.

NEW-TF-10

With the TF-10, we can say that the builder DNA has excelled itself. Our in-house tester hasn’t stopped talking about this boat since he was lucky enough to sail it…or rather fly it, as the TF-10 is a genuine foiler, capable of taking off even in an evanescent breeze.
This folding trimaran equipped with foils measures 11 m, and is the first of a completely one-design class which will thus offer its owners the possibility of racing on equal terms. The TF10’s plus point is its ease of use – even for monohull regulars – with simple, aided control of the foil rake. The first race for this new class will take place in 2018 in the USA, and the first five examples of the boat have already been ordered.

NEW-Corsair 760

Having appeared on the scene at the beginning of the year, the Corsair 760 has had the tricky task of replacing the famous Corsair 24, over 700 examples of which are sailing all over the world.
The Corsair 760 can of course be folded and transported, and offers much more comfort than its predecessors, with a little cabin providing a shelter, perfect for coastal camping. But it’s under sail that the trimaran reveals its true nature: boosted by a screecher on its bowsprit, exciting runs at over 20 knots become the norm.

NEW-Tricat 20

Tricat has just announced the start of production of a brand new trimaran, which is in the same spirit as its predecessors, including the 25 Evolution. This trimaran has been designed by Antoine Houdet and Jack Michal, with the aim of allowing nice day sailing or sporty but comfortable coastal ‘raids’. The Tricat reuses the 25 Evolution’s folding system, thus offering a good living area, a very stiff boat and above all disconcertingly easy folding on the water. Inside, we find a double berth for the parents and two singles for children. Enough to go sailing as a family and enjoy life, whilst having great fun at the helm!

NEW-Challenge 30.2

The Challenge 30.2 is a nice development of the much-appreciated Challenge 30. This folding trimaran retains the features which made its older sister a success, namely good accommodation – one double cabin, one single, plus the saloon which can be turned into a berth – as well as a size which makes it easily transportable by road. As for performance, the Challenge 30.2 is a real advance: it is bigger and lighter, thanks to its construction using infusion, and is equipped with a mast one meter higher, which gives it more power. Easy and pleasant to helm, the trimaran is now equipped with new, very nice helmsman’s seats.

NEW-Marsaudon TS3

Do you like atypical boats? Well here is a boat which you might appeal to you! Designed by Christophe Barreau, the TS3 is a catamaran which can be dismantled and transported in a 40-foot container. It is designed for coastal or semi-offshore cruising, as it meets the requirements of Category B of the CE standards. The architect has thought up innovative solutions for this boat, such as a canting rig which allows positive stability to be established in the case of a capsize. The (succinct) accommodation is found in the central nacelle (two double berths). The floats can serve as extra berths, and house the heads and the stowage. A genuine ‘raid’ boat, the first of which should be in the water in a few days’ time.

Built using infusion in New Zealand, the trimaran is then sent for assembly all over the world. A construction and distribution method which allows the builder to control the quality of its boats. The F22-R is equipped with a taller mast, which gives it even more impressive performance.

Catathai, based in Thailand, specializes in building simple, strong boats which are fast and light, to enjoy life at sea. The Andaman 39 is therefore a cruising catamaran whose deck plan has been optimized to be really suitable for a singlehander, and whose accommodation – deliberately simple for easier maintenance – is functional. Aboard the Andaman, the builder has opted for a Kevlar cladding on the bottom of the hulls, so that possible impacts with floating objects don’t have unfortunate consequences. Safety is actually one of Catathai’s priorities, with crash boxes, rudder protection, fire-resistant vinylester resin and a hatch to untangle a line caught round the propeller…
