<h2>Approach moving aster</h2>
<p><img src="/sites/default/files/inline-images/e01-8598.jpg" alt="" width="780" height="500" /></p>
<p>To tie up along a pontoon, it is always easier to approach moving astern - quite simply, to make seeing the approaching pontoon easier, and to make the crew’s task (jumping onto the pontoon) easier…</p>
<h2>The mooring lines are ready</h2>
<p><img src="/sites/default/files/inline-images/e02-3512.jpg" alt="" width="780" height="500" /></p>
<p>Approach the pontoon slowly, moving astern. The mooring lines are ready, made fast to the cleats… A crew member is ready with a fender… just in case !</p>
<h2>The crew member jumps down onto the pontoon…</h2>
<p><img src="/sites/default/files/inline-images/e03-2805.jpg" alt="" width="780" height="500" /></p>
<p>When you are close enough to the pontoon for a crew member to jump ashore, engage forward gear, to immobilise the boat. The crew member jumps down onto the pontoon…</p>
<h2>He must now make fast the aft mooring line.</h2>
<p><img src="/sites/default/files/inline-images/e04-7700.jpg" alt="" width="780" height="500" /></p>
<p>He must now make fast the aft mooring line.</p>
<h2>the boat must be parallel with and close to the pontoon.</h2>
<p><img src="/sites/default/files/inline-images/e05-5338.jpg" alt="" width="780" height="500" /></p>
<p>Once the stern is immobilised, go forward slowly, by increasing the revs of the engine on the opposite side to the pontoon, until the boat is parallel with and close to the pontoon.</p>
<h2>Make fast the forward mooring line</h2>
<p><img src="/sites/default/files/inline-images/e06-6942.jpg" alt="" width="780" height="500" /></p>
<p>All that remains is for the crew member ashore to make fast the forward mooring line.</p>
<h2>Adjust your mooring lines</h2>
<p><img src="/sites/default/files/inline-images/e07-6361.jpg" alt="" width="780" height="500" /></p>
<p>Adjust your mooring lines and fenders.</p>
<h2>Turn the engines off</h2>
<p><img src="/sites/default/files/inline-images/e08-3176.jpg" alt="" width="780" height="500" /></p>
<p>Everything is fine ; you can turn the engines off...</p>
