In the Ultime category, Spindrift won, ahead of Mussadam Oman Sail, in a little over 6 days, at an average speed of 22 knots. The crew improved on Loick Peyron’s 1996 record (7 days, 20 hours, 24 minutes, aboard the Orma trimaran Fujicolor II) by 1 day, 19 hours, 6 minutes and 19 seconds. As for Mussadam Oman Sail, it capsized 350 miles east of Newfoundland, fortunately without injuries.
In the Multi50 class, Arkema won in 9 days. A nice victory for Lalou Roucayrol and his crew.
