Spindrift 2 and Idec tried to take the Jules Verne Trophy this winter, but without success. The two trimarans have now announced that they will be returning next winter.
Meanwhile, Banque Populaire will be launching its new trimaran, as will Gitana. Thomas Coville, aboard his Sodebo, should be attacking the singlehanded round the world record this winter.
As for The Transat, we should find Macif, Actual and SodeboUltim on the start line...
Including the former MOD 70s, there are now 14 Ultims sailing in the world.
