We presented the prototype of the Futura 49 in Multihulls World n°131 - a catamaran whose distinctive feature is that it folds, so as to occupy a monohull berth in the marina.

After perfecting this original catamaran, the production phase will now be starting. To do this, the initiators of the project have called on Polar Yachts, which will thus be able to offer a production folding catamaran equipped with the patented technology which allows the floats to be folded under the bridgedeck. This 49-foot Futura will thus become the first folding production catamaran, going from 8m under way, to 4.8m in the marina, or for cruising on the canals. The launch of the n°1 is planned for 2016.
