The foundation, whose aim is water conservation, used a first multihull as a platform (the MOD 70 Race4Water) to take stock of the situation around the world. Following the boat’s capsize in the Indian Ocean - it is now in Lorient, France being repaired – Race for Water has now acquired the former PlanetSolar, the biggest solar-powered boat in the world, which sailed round the world for the first time in 2010-2012.
The aim remains to fight against the plastics which litter the oceans...
