The idea is to offer races in nautical stadiums around the world, on 20-foot carbon sport catamarans equipped with foils, but with sufficiently strict class rules to avoid spiralling costs, whilst remaining open, to allow innovation and the presence of numerous builders... The boats should be capable of sailing in from 1 to 30 knots and will certainly put on a show, with mixed two-up crews and double trapezes. In short, the 21st century’s Tornado, with the aim of providing a top class show.
The idea in the long run is to have a world tour, with regattas in Europe, Asia, the USA or the Middle East. The Foiling World Cup should see the light of day in 2016. We’ll keep you informed.
