Yvan Bourgnon just left Sri Lanka on March, 22. Winds from North-East are favorable to cross the Gulf of Aden, one of the most dangerous parts of the world for sailors. Yvan hopes to join Djibouti in 12 to 14 days.

In his attempt to sail round the world singlehanded on a sport cat, Yvan Bourgnon underwent a disaster, with the shipwreck of his boat in Sri Lanka. Fortunately without physical damage to the skipper. After a successful participative financing campaign on the internet, the construction of his new boat is now finished, and the skipper just left Sri Lanka.
‘Ma Louloutte 2’ (his boat’s name) has even been improved, to be easier to maneuver singlehanded. It now weighs 500kg and can carry 200kg, as opposed to 150 previously, not including the skipper. At the start of each leg then, the combined weight will be 800kg.
