Phil and Laura Harvey were at the head of Harvey Yachts in Cape Town, South Africa, for over 15 years, before leaving for Asia for 10 years to look after the development of the Gunboat range locally, among other things.

Back in South Africa, the couple decided to relaunch the company, basing themselves at Knysna and working with the architects Simonis-Voogd to launch the first of their new generation catamarans. It’s a 58-foot catamaran, the HY58, which will be launched in 2016. A boat for long-term cruisers, designed for easy use singlehanded, whilst being capable of good average speeds under sail.
