Whilst awaiting the final event of this 8th season of the Extreme 40s, which will be held in Sydney, Australia in the middle of December, the eleven crews have just done battle at Nice, where the conditions were such that they needed to be in good spirits to hold out.

In an erratic wind, the Realteam crew dominated the week’s events, before being pipped at the post by Alinghi, on top form, as ever. Alinghi’s skipper, Morgan Larson, already has one hand on the trophy, but nothing is decided, as statistically, five crews could still finish on the podium (Alinghi, The Wave, Muscat, Emirates Team New Zealand, Realteam and J.P. Morgan BAR). It looks as if we’re in for some good racing in Sydney...
