We already know that Spindrift 2, the biggest trimaran in the world, will also be at the start, with Yann Guichard. Quite a challenge to sail this 40-metre trimaran singlehanded across the Atlantic’s autumn depressions... But during the last edition, Franck Cammas proved that racing in a big boat (Groupama 3, which became Banque Populaire V) was a winning solution! The other ‘Ultime’ expected, Francis Joyon’s Idec, shouldn’t miss the adventure. That will therefore make at least 5 ‘Ultimes’ at the start, not to mention the glorious old boats which could join the party, and at least two MOD 70s (Musandam Oman Sail and Edmond de Rothschild).
