However, as always with this very special trophy, rumours are flying. But there are no certainties yet, although the general opinion is that we can’t see the Americans (trophy holders) abandoning multihulls to return to monohulls, after the incredible final we experienced last September...
We should know what type of boat has been chosen very shortly, and it appears that a catamaran with a rigid wing of around sixty feet is now favourite... But nothing is less certain.
What is certain, on the other hand, is that the French don’t want to be absent from a new campaign in multihulls. So Franck Cammas, Michel Desjoyeaux and Olivier de Kersauzon presented their common project, Team France, at the recent Paris Boat Show. This 35th edition of the Cup is looking very promising...
