Through the magic of technology, we were able to follow the course almost live, even betting the skipper he couldn’t beat 25 knots, then 26, then 30... Alas, almost every hour we received an e-mail announcing firstly that we had lost our bet, and secondly the catamaran’s new record. Finally, the MC² finished the race in second place, between two Maxi 90-footers and way ahead of the TP 52 fleet, and ‘dry, after having had a good shower aboard and taking great delight in eating foie gras and drinking red wine, with a nice coffee, whilst the monohulls were getting soaked. For your information, the boat’s record now stands at 33 knots...
