This time they’ve got it right: created in 1990, the 2014 Rallye des Iles du Soleil is well and truly back on the rails, after being taken over by Grand Pavois Organisation.

On the programme: around 6000 miles of cruising in both hemispheres and three continents, for six months of a unique adventure. After the departure from Madeira in September 2014, the participants will visit the Canaries and Cape Verde, before crossing the Atlantic to Salvador de Bahia, in Brazil. From there, they will sail up the Brazilian coast to Belem, where the trans-Amazonian part of the rally will begin. Quite obviously, everyone is free to join the rally where they wish, to allow boats which are already in the West Indies to join the Amazonian gathering...
