During the second-last leg of the year in Nice, we saw the 40-foot catamarans having a whale of a time in the heavy weather, then racing daggers drawn in a light breeze. In any cases, it was spectacular, and the buoy roundings were just as impressive as ever.
The final leg was notably quite tense, as four crews were still battling for a place on the podium. But finally Leigh McMillan won again, for the fourth consecutive time this year. The Wave Muscat is therefore particularly well-placed to win after the final leg, which will be raced in Brazil.
