The course consists of the return trip between Geneva and Le Bouveret, over a theoretical distance of 66.5 miles. The record has been held since 2007 by Phillipe Cardis in a Decision 35. But the Hydroptère.ch has just beaten the record by over eight minutes, in 4 hours and 45 minutes, despite a broken rudder on the return leg.
After three years’ research, this record has rewarded the whole Hydro team, which is also in the running for the Little America's Cup, raced in C Class boats.
