The n°2 (ex Roland Jourdain) has been sold and is now called Orion. The MOD 70 has gone to the USA where it is training and even breaking records in San Francisco Bay, as it has been timed at 43.2 knots... It must be said that the project manager is none other than Cam Lewis, one of the best American multihull specialists…
Meanwhile, as a title sponsor is still lacking, the MOD 70s still in Europe have had to make do with taking part in races open to all classes (Route des Princes – Transat Jacques Vabre), and several crews have already made it known that they should be at the start of the Rhum. In the meantime, the MOD 70 circuit starts again in 2014, and the organisers have just announced that the start of the transatlantic race between Brest and New York will be on 11th May 2014.
