This start line is for the Tour de Belle Ile, which celebrated its sixth edition this year. Sodebo, Prince de Bretagne 80', Gitana 11, Spindrift Racing, Actual and Sensation Ocean led the field, followed by the Imoca 60s and nearly 500 boats. The weather conditions didn’t allow the event record (still held by Sebastien Josse and his crew, on Gitana 11, in 2h 42m) to be beaten. The boat which did best in the bay’s calm conditions this year was Spindrift (Yann Guichard), ahead of Gitana 11 (Sebastien Josse) and Prince de Bretagne (L. Lemonchois). The winner covered the 15-mile shortened course in... 3hrs50!
