The Hydroptère took advantage of this opportunity to show the America’s Cup stars one of the emblematic boats at the origin of the foils which today allow the AC 72 to have such staggering performance…Except that the Hydroptère is not (yet) a museum piece, it is still sailing and is going to attempt to break the record between Los Angeles and Honolulu from the end of May onwards. Aboard we will once again find Alain Thébault, as well as an exceptional crew, made up of Jean Le Cam, Yves Parlier and Jacques Vincent…if you please! No need to explain that with this ‘gang of lunatics’ aboard, the record had better look out…
