Multihulls have the wind in their sails, it’s undeniable. At the boat shows, it is now almost impossible not to see at least a dozen cruising boats on display, and the biggest shows are announcing between forty and fifty cruising cats and tris to be visited on the pontoons... From Cannes to Miami, via Annapolis or the Grand Pavois at La Rochelle, France, where the organizers have really put the spotlight on our favourite boats, this nautical fall will be under the colours of the multihull, that’s for certain! Even the shows ashore, where by definition it is harder to present cruising catamarans, the organizers are giving cats and tris a place of honour. This will again be the case this year at Paris or Düsseldorf.
So, take advantage of your visit to the coming boat shows to visit a maximum number of boats and thus have all the elements in your possession when choosing your next boat, whether for leaving to sail to the other side of the world, or for a week’s charter in the warm seas of the Caribbean!
Cannes Yachting Festival (France)
Two months before the event, the Cannes Yachting Festival is already announcing 42 catamarans and trimarans, from 9.98m to... 22.50 m! We can really say that there will be something for all tastes.
Bali Catamarans will be presenting the whole of its range (Bali 4.0 – 4.3 – 4.5 – 4.3 MY). Catana will also be present with a 47, whilst Lagoon (with the 40 MY - 630 MY – 380 – 450 - 52 SporTop – 560 S2) must not be missed. Fountaine Pajot will be bringing two motor yachts (MY 37 and Cumberland 47 LC) and 4 sailboats (Hélia – Saba – Ipanema and Victoria). As in previous years, Leopard will be particularly well represented, with the Leopard 40, 44 and 48, whilst Nautitech will be presenting its best seller, the Open 40, as well as its flagship, the 54-footer. O Yachts is now developing a whole range, and will be presenting its Class 4. It will also be taking advantage of the opportunity to show you its new projects (Class 5 and Windbliss 110). You will be able to visit the Outremer 45 and 51, as well as the Swiss S2C and the Slyder 47, the Aventura 33 Evo 2 (the smallest of the cats presented) and the three Sunreefs (70 Power, 60 Loft and the 74 –the biggest of the multihulls afloat this year). Finally, the two boats from Set Marine (435 and 625) and of course the Neel 65 will be amongst the most visited.
The builders Cathugo, Tan and Hudson Yachts will also be present, but without boats this year, and with just a booth.

Grand Pavois de La Rochelle (France)
Last year, the Grand Pavois de La Rochelle – a real multihull town if ever there was one –decided to develop the multihull sector, and this year has joined forces with Multihulls World to again offer visitors a full magazine dedicated to our favorite boats, with the theme of long-term cruising. A magazine which will be available free of charge on the show’s site, and can be downloaded by those of you who can’t make it to the show. The multihull area at La Rochelle’s boat show is even bigger this year, and the organizers are expecting around thirty multihulls, including the Lagoon 450 SporTop and 40 MY, the Fountaine Pajot Helia 44, Saba 50, the Victoria 67 and MY 37, the Bali 4.3 and the new Bali 4.3 MY. Trimarans will be well represented, with the Astus 24, Dragonfly 25, 28, 32 and 35, the Radikal 26, the Bandit 870, the Tricat 25 Evolution as well as the Corsair Pulse 600 and Dash 750 MK2. Amongst the boats not to be missed, there will be the Gemini Legacy 35, the Broadblue Rapier 550, the Dazcat 1495, as well as the Open version of the Aero 50. Finally, you will be able to see once again the Aventura 43 and the Nautitech Open 40, as well as the X Cat, the motor catamaran from Cheetah Marine.
Don’t forget that this year, a new test area will be available, which will allow you to sail in certain boats.

Annapolis Boat Show
It's still a bit early to have a full list of the boats which will be on display at the Annapolis Boat Shows (sail and motor), but of the fifty or so boats expected, we can now list the Bali 4.3 and 4.5, the Lagoon 39, 450, 52 and 560 S2, the Leopards, with, in the Moorings version, the 5800, 4800 and in the Sunsail version, the 444 and 404, and finally the latest boat from the builder, the Leopard 40. Outremer will be present with a 51, as will Balance Catamarans, Seawind and Corsair.
