Aquila 36 Molokai: Designed for Big Game Fishing

The powercat specialists are expanding their range of offshore sport fishing boats with the Aquila 36 Molokai. This new model logically takes inspiration from its big sistership, the 47 (see the test report in our Special Issue #21). It features a relatively narrow platform and “traditional” bows—not straight or inverted as has become the norm in Europe. The hulls offer plenty of volume at deck level, and while the bows are very narrow, they feature a chine. As a result, the tunnel between the hulls is quite high and narrow, which should provide very effective shock absorption. The build incorporates numerous carbon reinforcements to stiffen the structure (which can easily support a tuna tower) while lightening the powercat. Although this new model was designed primarily for fishing, with its rod holders and livewells, it is also perfect for a day out on the water with family or friends, with sunbathing areas at the bow, an outdoor galley, and even fitted-out down below.
The Aquila 36 Molokai is due to be unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (October 29 to November 2).

Scoop : Four Winns TH33 & TH38, Powercats That Make a Statement!

In 2023, the unveiling of the TH36 by the renowned American brand Four Winns caused quite a stir: for the first time, a catamaran appeared in the company’s lineup. Would the «TH» label - short for twin hull - remain a one-off test model or mark the beginning of a full range? We now have the answer: the builder is launching no fewer than two new models, which will make their world premieres in Cannes this September and in Miami in February 2026.

Wama 42: Aluminum and Foils

This new weekender built in Tunisia is made of aluminum, an original choice, as this material would more typically be used for small workboats or large ocean-going vessels.
The Wama 42 promises excellent performance thanks to powerful twin outboard motors or a pair of diesel inboards, and foils. The maximum speed is 42 knots, with a cruising speed of 32 knots.
Although the superstructure is fairly discreet, it manages to accommodate a comfortable interior, with the shipyard offering two to four cabins in the hulls.
Designed primarily for recreational boating, the spacious aft platform offers direct access to the water.

VisionF Superfast 46: Thrills Guaranteed!

The announcement of this speedster’s launch went almost unnoticed - the shipyard itself didn’t even mention it on its website... It must be said that the young Turkish shipyard VisionF Yachts had got us rather accustomed to large, quiet powercats (even if the Barbie pink livery of a recent 82 was pretty eye-catching a couple years ago in Cannes), and a Forever Green approach with the choice, for some models, of aluminum hulls and hybrid propulsion. It’s no exaggeration to say that the VisionF Superfast 46 stands out completely from the manufacturer’s catalog: the powercat we’re about to discover this year in the Vieux Port, is sure to create a buzz! This all-carbon craft is capable of reaching no less than 80 knots and maintaining this crazy speed for two hours. As an option, the hydraulic steering is coupled with joystick controls to optimize maneuverability at high speeds. So, should we go for a test sail?

Aquila 46 Yacht: The Replacement for the Iconic 44?

Launched over 10 years ago now, the Aquila 44 is one of the very few powercats to have sold over 200 examples... But a manufacturer capable of launching three new models a year isn’t necessarily going to keep its 44 going forever.
Aquila Boats has there-fore announced a new 46 Yacht. For the time being, both models will remain in the ship-yard’s catalog, but it’s a safe bet that the 44 will be discontinued very soon. In terms of layout, the highlight of the new 46 is the option of a three-cabin version with a huge owner’s cabin forward that spans the entire width of the boat.
The manufacturer offers its Aquila Hydro Glide® foiling system as an option for increased efficiency and range, fully integrated C-Zone digital switching as standard, and the option of adding a lithium battery bank.
The Aquila 46 Yacht will be previewed in Europe (a first for the Sino-American yard) at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September and followed by the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.

Omaya 50: Sleek Design and Comfort

The Omaya 50 is one of the newcomers to the market, selling not only living space - in this case 1,615 square feet (150 square meters) - but also luxury, as evidenced by the first renderings of the interior. The overall design is not to be outdone, featuring rather clean lines. The large saloon can accommodate 10 people at table - in either dining or coffee configuration. The hulls can house a huge Owner’s suite to port and two guest cabins to starboard, or four cabins. The forepeaks can be customized according to the captain’s wishes. On deck, there are two cockpits connected via side-decks or through the nacelle’s forward door. A large aft platform completes the sugarscoops. The flybridge is accessible via two staircases.

Sunreef 55 Ultima: Coming soon to Europe... ahead of the US?

The very first examples of the Sunreef 55 Ultima, produced by the Ras Al Khaimah factory, were unveiled in Dubai back in February. It was in the United Arab Emirates that we got the chance to step aboard this new powercat, which is set to be presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival and no doubt in Florida in the fall. The 55 Ultima is characterized by a moderate beam of 18’4” (5.6 m) and a very specific design that incorporates a steeply sloping and inverted front to the coachroof, an inverted deck sheer and finally angled bows.
Like all Sunreef yachts, the luxurious interior can be customized on request. As for the outdoor living spaces, they offer a spacious cockpit, sunbathing areas and a swimming platform. The Sunreef 55 Ultima is also designed to be available in an Eco version with hybrid propulsion and various high-performance solar panel options.

Unica 58: Superyachting on Two Hulls

This new model, which was hastily unveiled last year under the name Apicat 56, is back for good this year. The aim of the highly renowned Italian brand Austin Parker Yachts is to convince customers who were previously only interested in monohull superyachts to opt for the catamaran formula. The exercise, in terms of design, technical choices and layouts, is an interesting one, as these “traditional” yachting specialists seek to innovate by integrating two hulls, while defending their vision of motorboating. As a result, the lines of the Inica 58 remain very clean - the builder called on the services of Pininfarina and De Simoni Yacht Design, if you please... The relatively narrow beam is complemented by an attractive owner’s cabin, which occupies the full 23 feet (7 m) available forward. The flybridge is home to a spacious sundeck, wet bar and helm station.

Prestige M7: A Third Model in the M-Line Range

With the M7, Prestige’s Powercat range now has three models. The one we got to check out in Monfalcone, Italy, focuses on sobriety, with low fuel consumption, a maximum speed limited to 20 knots and a respectable range of 1,330 miles at 8 knots. The hulls have been optimized for seakindliness - and thus safety and comfort in all conditions. If you opt for the Silent Mode Package, this allows zero carbon emissions for 12 hours, without sacrificing any of the usual comfort.
Compared to the M48 and M8, there have been design improvements, with a few new modern touches, such as the wider bulwark, forward, the more pronounced inverted deck sheer near the cockpit, the semi- transparent coachroof pillar set apart from the superstructure, and a more assertive selection of colors.
Aboard the M7, there are three particularly appealing innovations: the port-side companionway door leads directly to the side-deck, but also to the flybridge staircase, which is presented “back-to-front” compared to conventional configurations. This arrangement makes the flybridge accessible from both inside and outside, without wasting space, while protecting the staircase from the elements.
