Editorial of magazine Multihulls World #205

Completing the Sailboat Buyer’s Guide is quite an undertaking; we all pitch in to list every cruising multihull on the market, weed out former models, add the new ones, correct the prices... It’s a long and demanding process, working directly with the shipyards, which obviously draws on all our content throughout the year, gathered from all over the world. Not all boating magazines have journalists in Europe, the United States, Australia, and South Africa. Multihulls World does - and it’s thanks to this team that we’re able to list and detail in this Buyer’s Guide some 162 catamarans and trimarans from every continent...
And it was just a few hours before finishing this issue - that is, writing this editorial - that one of the magazine’s contributors called me live from a boat show. We talked about upcoming multihull tests, about meetings appointments and videos, and finally my correspondent told me the following anecdote: one of our Italian colleagues, whose publication is preparing a special multihull edition for this winter, asked her if she could give him a copy of our latest Powerboat Buyer's Guide, claiming - quite unabashedly, it seems - that he used it every year to write his special edition... I didn't catch who it was, but if he's reading this, I'd be happy to give him a copy of this Sailboat Buyer's Guide to make his job even easier. As the saying goes, “Often copied but never equaled”!
