New Models Expected to Attend
C-Cat 38: Tested and Approved!
Lengthened by 73 cm (29 in), the former C Cat 37 actually gains just over two feet rather than one... Either way, its architects were predicting an appreciable speed gain of 0.9 knots with 10 knots of wind, and they weren’t wrong: the model presented in Miami has just crossed the Atlantic, taking first place in its category in the 2024 ARC rally - see our News from the Pros.
In the cockpit, a comfortable aft bench and a 35 cm (14 in) longer table have been added. New features include composite davits and steering wheels, while the bowsprit and bimini are in carbon. Accommodation ranges from 2 to 4 cabins with 2 bathrooms. The cockpit can be fully enclosed with removable fabric or composite panels. This option doubles the floor space of the saloon.

Aquila 42: Coupe A Weekender Available in Inboard or Outboard Powered Versions
With its streamlined silhouette - the air draft is limited to just over 10 feet (3 m) - the new 42 Coupe promises a sporty temperament, and above all efficiency, thanks to the foiling system it will be equipped with. The design is more modern, but also in line with American standards: the bows retain a steep “conventional” slope. On board, you can count on spacious relaxation areas. In the nacelle, there’s a lounge, a large galley and a well-protected two-seater interior helm station. Multiple openings, including a forward door and a sunroof, facilitate circulation and ventilation. Each hull features a double cabin with ensuite bathroom.

Lagoon 43: An Opening Bulwark and an Incredible Owner’s Cabin!
Presented for the first time at September’s Cannes Yachting Festival, this new catamaran features a rig that is stepped further forward than on the 42, and it has an overlapping genoa. The design shows a slender, sloping coachroof base that refines the superstructure. At the stern, the bulwark is cut out to ensure direct access to the quay when the catamaran is moored alongside. On deck, the 43 gains a forward cockpit compared to the 42. The helm station remains raised on the port side but is now accompanied by a U-shaped bench seat rather than a simple sunlounger. Inside, the builder has designed an ingenious modular table that can straddle the nacelle and cockpit while providing seating for 12. A large opening hatch is installed in the forward face of the nacelle. The forward volume of the hulls has been optimized to increase sleeping capacity - in the Owner’s version, the bed is installed forward and there is a proper desk, like you would have at home. The 4-cabin version offers all equivalent volumes.

Aquila 46: Coupe A Weekender that’s Thinking Big!
The second model in the Coupe range stands out from the usual power catamaran weekenders in that it is much larger - this segment of the market typically ranges from 36 to 42 feet. So, Aquila Power Catamarans is taking a daring gamble with this 46, which has just two cabins. This size corresponds to classic cruisers with much greater sleeping capacity, or to large powercats dedicated to fishing. The second original feature of this new 46 Coupe is that its powertrain - proportionally a little less powerful than that aboard the 42 - is available either outboard or diesel-powered. Here again, the manufacturer is thinking outside the box - and so much the better!
The deck layout, like that of the 42 Coupe, features a vast aft cockpit with a central passage through the nacelle to the bow-rider.

Leopard 46: Electric Premiere!
The replacement for the Leopard 45 made its premiere appearance at Annapolis. This model includes (as an option) an electric drivetrain – a big first for the brand. As for the rest of the catamaran, the 46 retains all the brand’s hallmarks - forward door with coachroof overhang and mini exterior saloon in front of the mast, mid-height helm and maneuvering station, and a flybridge. The opening between the nacelle and cockpit is much wider than on the 45, with the idea being to offer an open configuration that doesn’t compromise the comfort of a closed layout (for nighttime or bad weather). Inside, there are 3, 4 or 5 cabins. Great options include the lifting platform, the taller rig and the performance sails.

Bali 5.8: A Flagship Worthy of the Name
The biggest of the Balis is impressive to say the least! The integral deck instead of a trampoline is able to offer both a forward cockpit and a real beach club area at the stern - connected to a ydraulic platform - but also optimal rigidity. To keep weight under control, the yard has used Catana technology, implementing carbon structural bulkheads. On board, you’ll find the opening forward door, the saloon-cockpit (a true Bali signature) and the famous tilting aft door.
The galley, chart table/desk and cabins (of which there are anywhere from 3 to 6, depending on the version) are all designed in an XXL spirit that should satisfy the most demanding owners in terms of comfort.

Sixty Solar Sail: Optimized for Full-comfort Blue Water Cruising
Presented as an avant-premiere at Annapolis, the big sistership of the X5 Plus adopts a relatively conventional design - the big arch around the cockpit is now more gone. Our visit on board, followed by a test that will be published shortly in Multihulls World, highlighted the care given to overall ergonomics and the finish. The name Solar reflects the manufacturer’s desire to limit fossil fuel consumption by offering an impressive surface area of solar panels. Some neat touches will improve life when cruising, such as the forward sunbathing area that’s well protected between the coachroof uprights, the aft platform equipped with a carbon mini-crane and the large holds, and lockers ready to store all your nautical equipment. The helm and maneuvering station is elegantly protected by a hard-top, not to mention the rigid handrail that surrounds the entire deck. A semi-custom finish is offered by the manufacturer.

Lagoon 60: Limitless Comfort
In terms of outline, the new 60-foot model, as ever signed by VPLP, presents a silhouette relatively similar to that of the 55, except that the sail plan uses the overlapping genoa of the latest 51. The main innovation on deck concerns the aft cockpit, literally transformed into a beach club by eliminating the traditional bench seat. This enormous surface area is further enlarged by an aft platform and fold-down bulwarks. As for relaxation space, the forward cockpit and huge flybridge, equipped with a full galley, are not to be outdone. For the interior, the designers have managed to ensure totally flush circulation from one cockpit to the other, including of course the nacelle - a floor without steps, and that changes everything!
