It’s not advisable to completely enclose the cockpit when the crew is primarily focused on looking at the sails, watchkeeping, and sailing maneuvers. However, when at anchor, docked, or during a stopover, your requirements differ: you need shade, comfort, sometimes privacy, or even protection for your multihull when you’re not on board. This is precisely the role of NV Equipment’s modular protection system which adapts the cockpit to each situation.
Technically, the concept is based on four complementary modules: shade sail, crystal covers, solid or openwork canvas, and rain cover. Each configuration can be set up in a few minutes and is easy to handle, even if your sailing short-handed. It is even possible to integrate a bimini solar panel to optimize energy on board. All components can be rolled up and stored in special covers directly in the cockpit to save space and preserve the available area. This feature is particularly appreciated when blue water cruising, where every square foot counts.
The sturdy, lightweight aluminum structure is available in a white or matte black lacquer finish. The fabrics used are Sunbrella Plus, which guarantee optimum resistance (10 years) to UV rays, salt, and weathering. This new product will soon be available on request via NVequipment’s international distribution network, which already has more than 600 points of sale in 50 countries and around 40 partner shipyards in Europe.
