€ 980 ex-tax per month: that’s the price displayed on the stern of Tixy, a 2022 Leopard 42 based in Port-Vendres, close to the French/Spanish border... Of course, this is not a rent-to-own scheme to become the 100% owner of this recent catamaran, but rather to acquire shared usage rights. Ethics Yachting’s Discovery package offers 7 days from June to August, 5 days in April/May or September/October, and unlimited use (subject to availability) from November through March. Other packages are also available.
The Leopard 42, launched late 2020, was designed to accommodate 8 people without restrictions thanks to its volume and its load capacity of nearly 4 tons. There’s the same generosity in terms of tank capacity. The 42 remains faithful to the forward door between the saloon and the foredeck, but offers a lounge on the coachroof, within reach of the raised helm station and with dedicated access. All sail maneuvers are accessible to the helmsman so as to facilitate short- or single-handed sailing. Inside, the yard has retained the concept of the galley being forward in the saloon and facing forward, as with the chart table.
