Located on the shores of a perfectly sheltered stretch of water in Aveiro, just south of Porto, in Portugal, the 5-acre (20,000 m²) site is adjacent to that of Xquisite Yachts. This is where the Yot 36 and 41 are produced, ahead of a larger model which we’ll be hearing more about very soon. The shipyard will eventually employ 450 people and have an annual production capacity of 200 units.
The day was an opportunity for our senior reporter Brieuc Maisonneuve to sail aboard the Yot 36 (see test in Multihulls World #195) this time equipped with twin 400 HP V10 Mercury engines – enough to reach 43 knots!
