Straight from the world of vanlife and outdoor vehicles, Slovenian company Simarine has just won the DAME Award in its category (Electronic & Electrical Systems) at the must-see METS Trade show in Amsterdam with the SAC15R, a new-generation AC distribution unit equipped with motorized circuit breakers and full NMEA 2000 compatibility. The goal: to modernize 115/230 V management on board with a centralized, streamlined, and remotely controllable system. This type of installation is particularly relevant aboard our modern multihulls, which are often equipped with complex energy systems. The SAC15R combines five AC circuits, which can be extended by daisy chaining for larger configurations. Its IP33-certified chassis is designed to withstand typical marine conditions. Automatic circuit breaker engagement, integrated monitoring, and the inability to access live parts reinforce the system’s overall consistency. A manual backup control ensures continuity in the event of any failure. Remote control from an NMEA 2000 display or a dedicated Simarine interface eliminates the need for direct handling of the box itself, making it safe to use and allowing installation in technical areas or in a locker.
