We didn’t manage to catch up with Honda at Metstrade, due to conflicting schedules, but their major new product, a new V6 engine, was unveiled at the show. We finally got to see this new outboard at the Paris Nautic Show with Thomas Delavenne, regional manager of Honda Marine France.

Your dinghy’s outboard motor deserves as much attention and care as the main engines aboard your multihull: transferring crew in an anchorage or discovering the shoreline are things to be done in complete safety by limiting as much as possible the risk of a breakdown. Undertaking periodic engine maintenance means your outboard will be reliable and operational in the long term.

The dynamism of the multihull market continues with an increase of around 20% in global production for 2022 compared to 2021. The demand for powercats is very much on the up - as evidenced by searches for pre-owned power catamarans, showing an increase of 33% in 2022 and 2.4 times higher than in the pre-Covid period (figures provided by boat.com). Aware of the potential offered by this market, since 2016 engine manufacturer Suzuki has been supporting the initiative of the famous French racing skipper Michel Desjoyeaux who designed and built his experimental catamaran Mer Agitée.
