The sail area to weight ratio of 12.29 m²/t makes it very favorable for speed in light airs. The nacelle is well protected from waves as it is 3 feet (0.9 m) above the water. The 55SC comes with skeg keels as standard, but daggerboards are also available as an option. The interior layout can be customized to suit the owner’s requirements. The hybrid propulsion system has already proven itself: a Max 55SC crossed the Pacific Ocean without needing to refuel.
